GSLDC and UNWG Hold Youth Art Exhibition on SDGs at UNOV
VIENNA, 5 August 2026 — The Global SDGs and Leadership Development Center (GSLDC) and the United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) co-hosted the second edition of “The Beauty of the Earth” Youth Art Exhibition on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on 4–5 August at the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), according to the organizers.

According to GSLDC, the exhibition aimed to use art to deepen young people’s understanding of, and commitment to action on, the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It featured paintings, installations and other works by young creators from different countries. GSLDC said the works addressed biodiversity, climate change and the protection of marine and terrestrial ecosystems, with reference to the Convention on Biological Diversity and SDGs 11, 13, 14 and 15. GSLDC said in a statement that the exhibition sought to connect youth creativity with the implementation of the SDGs.

At the opening ceremony, certificates were presented by the organizers to young artist representatives selected by the organizers. GSLDC said the recognition was intended to encourage continued artistic exploration and environmental awareness among young people. The ceremony also included performances by artists and young performers from different countries, which organizers described as reflecting cultural diversity and the inclusive role of the arts in public engagement.

GSLDC noted that the exhibition formed part of UNWG’s activities, according to the organizers, and was intended to promote environmental protection and public service through art while fostering mutual understanding among cultures.

GSLDC said the exhibition reflected its stated mission to promote youth leadership and international cooperation on the SDGs, and its focus on public engagement and partnership-based activities under the 2030 Agenda. The center said it regards such projects as a way to connect young people with SDG implementation and to support cross-cultural dialogue.
