GSLDC Recognized by ITU as a Supporting Partner for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2026

The Global SDGs and Leadership Development Center (GSLDC) is honored to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in recognition of its role as a Supporting Partner of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2026, held from 6–10 July 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The certificate acknowledges GSLDC’s commitment to strengthening the implementation of WSIS-related activities and its contribution to the WSIS Fund in Trust of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for 2026. The recognition is signed by Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, highlighting GSLDC’s contribution to advancing the objectives of the WSIS process through international collaboration and digital development initiatives.

Since its establishment, the World Summit on the Information Society has served as the leading United Nations platform for promoting a people-centered, inclusive, and development-oriented information society. Convening governments, international organizations, the private sector, academia, and civil society, WSIS provides a global forum to advance dialogue and action on digital transformation, emerging technologies, and the role of information and communication technologies in achieving sustainable development.

As a Supporting Partner, GSLDC joins a global network of organizations working to strengthen digital cooperation and promote innovation that benefits communities worldwide. The recognition reflects the Center’s continued efforts to foster youth leadership, digital capacity building, and international partnerships while supporting the responsible and inclusive development of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.

Over the past year, GSLDC has expanded its international engagement through initiatives that connect young leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators across regions. By collaborating with United Nations agencies, academic institutions, governments, and industry partners, the Center has promoted knowledge exchange and practical solutions that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the broader digital development agenda.

Receiving this recognition from ITU represents another milestone in GSLDC’s growing collaboration with the international community. It reaffirms the Center’s commitment to supporting the implementation of the WSIS vision and contributing to global efforts that leverage digital technologies to create more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable societies.
