Space4Climate:Breakthrough mission for climate data
Space4Climate is a non-profit, non-commercial membership organization primarily funded by the UK Space Agency. Space4Climate supports the UK’s leading climate community in delivering and utilizing space-derived climate information, which is essential for integrating into various climate services, benefiting economies and societies worldwide. From satellite launches and data acquisition to data analysis and application, Space4Climate supports a network of companies and organizations in this sector, leveraging their expertise for events and educational initiatives aimed at informing and educating the youth and the public about these topics.
Space4Climate also ensures the delivery of a seamless supply chain by identifying new requirements and overcoming barriers, thereby enhancing the provision and sustainability of climate services.

Climate Services Development Manager Krupa Kumar, shared her thoughts on the “Project for Youth”, which aims to engage the next generation in addressing climate change challenges, emphasizing the importance of diverse backgrounds and skills beyond just science. Space4Climate members are keen on inspiring and educating youth about the role of satellites in climate change and policy-making. It underscores the significance of empowering youth to feel in control of their future and the planet’s future, aligning with the broader objectives of Space for Climate and UK initiatives in climate change.

“The future is in your hands” said Sally Stevens, the Communications and Engagement Manager of Space4Climate. She emphasizes that climate action isn’t limited to those with a science background. Instead, people from all fields, including the arts, can play a significant role. The key takeaway is for each person to find their own unique path to join in the collective effort of supporting and safeguarding the environment. She encourages the youth to turn their emotions and concerns about climate change into productive and impactful activities.

International Dialogue
The “Pioneering Youth International Dialogue” is supported by the United Nations Youth Leadership Development Program (UNYLDP) and its partners. It is an initiative led by China’s Youth Pioneers in collaboration with international youth pioneers who have participated in the Pioneering Program. This dialogue focuses on global hot topics such as climate change and green development. It promotes the exchange of ideas between youths and bilateral/multilateral international organizations, non-governmental organizations, private sector representatives, and academic experts. The aim of this initiative is to inspire cross-sectoral innovation and create a green future through youth action.
COP28 Insights For Youth
“COP28 Insights For Youth” was a collection of specialized dialogue activities conducted during the COP28 conferences in Dubai, UAE, under the “Pioneering Youth International Dialogue.” This initiative was organized by the Global Youth Pioneer Network, Tsinghua University’s Student China-ASEAN Association, and graduate students from the School of Journalism and Communication at Xiamen University. They posed questions to specific international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and private sector representatives within the COP28 area. The aim was to understand the practices and experiences of different stakeholders in promoting climate action and cultivating climate literacy among young people, as well as to explore methods and pathways for youth participation in climate action.
