Emirates Red Crescent: Pioneering Humanitarian Efforts Globally


Emirates Red Crescent Authority since its inception in 1983, played a leading role in promoting different aspects of humanitarian work on both domestic and international levels
Wafa Alzabi, the Humanitarian Diplomacy Manager at Emirates Red Crescent, highlights the organization’s significant presence at COP28. With initiatives in 149 countries, Emirates Red Crescent stands as a beacon of hope and support in the global humanitarian landscape.

Climate Fresk: Play your part in the climate transition

Climate Fresk, a French NGO, showcased its commitment to climate change education at COP28. The organization focuses on educating people about the causes and consequences of climate change to encourage informed action.

Mia Tahan, a facilitator from Climate Fresk, highlighted the organization’s efforts in climate education, especially among youth. At a significant event, she demonstrated the activities conducted during Climate Fresk’s workshops. These workshops, open to the general public and run by volunteers, aim to educate participants about the mechanics of climate change and empower them to take effective action as citizens.

Mia emphasized the adaptability of Climate Fresk’s workshops, which are available both in-person and online, catering to a global audience in multiple languages. She noted the inclusivity of these workshops, designed for various age groups and accessible in 45 languages across 156 countries.

Mia discussed the ease with which workshop participants can become facilitators, spreading climate awareness. She encouraged young people to integrate their passions with climate action, regardless of their professional background.
