Project Assistant Internship – Global SDGs and Leadership Development Center (UNITAR affiliated SDGs Center)


About Us
The Global SDGs and Leadership Development Center is a UNITAR-affiliated platform driving cross-sector collaboration to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our projects span global academic networks, digital economic cities initiatives, youth-led innovation programs, and multi-stakeholder events. We seek passionate interns to support our mission and gain hands-on experience in international development.

Position: Project Assistant Intern
Duty Stations: Singapore, Beijing, Geneva (hybrid: remote work with occasional in-person support, project-dependent)
Duration: 3–6 months (full-time, renewable based on performance)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of our project teams, interns will contribute to:

1. Project Coordination

  • Assist in organizing workshops, webinars, and events (e.g., SDG Young Scholars Program, Digital Economic Cities40 conferences), including participant registration, agenda planning, and logistics.
  • Support data collection and research for SDG-focused projects (e.g., sustainable finance case studies, youth engagement metrics).

2. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Draft emails, social media content, and newsletters to engage partners (governments, universities, NGOs).
  • Maintain contact lists and update databases for our global networks (e.g., SDG International Academic Network).

3. Administrative Support

  • Provide translation (English-Chinese/French) for meeting materials, reports, and presentations.
  • Assist with travel arrangements, expense tracking, and document filing for project teams.

4. Cross-Location Collaboration

  • Collaborate with teams in Singapore, Beijing, and Geneva on tasks like webinar technical support or event photography/videography.

 

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in international relations, environmental studies, public policy, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Chinese or French proficiency is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic design tools (Canva, Adobe Spark).
  • Interest in sustainable development, youth empowerment, and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, multicultural environment and manage deadlines.
