ITU Launches “2026 Innovate for Impact Midterm Report” and AI Playbook Platform – Our Center Launches Second Call for Global Digital Economy Lighthouse Cases with ITU

On 7 July 2026, on the sidelines of the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) officially released the 2026 Innovate for Impact Midterm Report. The report highlights the interim achievements of innovative AI applications worldwide, shares exemplary practices of AI-driven economic and social development, and serves as a valuable reference for advancing AI innovation and international cooperation.

In parallel, ITU officially launched the AI Playbook Platform, a global repository of outstanding AI application cases designed to create an open and shared knowledge base. The platform provides governments, industry, academia, and international organizations with access to case studies, experience exchange, and partnership opportunities, with the goal of accelerating the dissemination of AI innovation and advancing its contribution to sustainable socio-economic development.

The Global SDGs and Leadership Development Center is proud to be an ITU partner under the Innovate for Impact framework, collaborating with ITU, ITC, and DEC40 on the Global Digital Economy Lighthouse Cases initiative. During the summit, our Center’s representative presented the results of the first call for submissions and, together with ITU, officially launched the second call for submissions, inviting global stakeholders to actively participate in advancing the integration of digital economy and AI for sustainable development.
