People’s Daily Online, Bangkok, August 2 (Reporter Bai Yuanqi) — On the evening of August 1, the 2025 “One Vision, Blossoming Along the Belt” China-Malaysia Youth Cultural Showcase was held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The event was co-hosted by the China Association for the Promotion of World Ethnic Cultures, Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the UN Centre for Sustainable Development Goals and Leadership, and the Kuala Lumpur City Government. Nearly 100 guests attended the event in person.
In her opening speech, Qiu Li, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Association for the Promotion of World Ethnic Cultures, stated that youth are the torchbearers of cultural inheritance. This performance was not only a platform for cultural exchange, but also a seedbed for the friendship between China and Malaysia. A representative from Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture noted that this year marks the 51st anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, expressing hope that more youth interactions will help the two countries’ friendship flourish in the new era. The showcase revolved around three main themes: “Dialogue of Traditional Essence,” “Resonance of Modern Arts,” and “Innovation through Cultural Integration.” The event featured over ten forms of artistic expression, including martial arts, wind ensembles, dance, and theatrical performances. Highlights included the balanced and graceful Malaysian Tai Chi performance “Tai Chi”, the powerful pipa solo “Ambush from Ten Sides”, and the Sichuan Opera face-changing act, which drew enthusiastic applause from the audience. Other standout acts included Macau’s “Returning Heron”, the street dance “Youth Rising”, and the choir performance “Silk Road Affection”, showcasing the artistic talent of both Chinese and Malaysian youth. The final group chorus “Tomorrow Will Be Better” brought the atmosphere to a rousing climax.
